Class Structure

Introduction to Dance

Introduction to Dance is for beginner students aged 5-7 yrs, starting with basic Ballet technique and movement. This class is designed to give students a general skill set before moving onto other classes such as Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop.

Jazz, contemporary and technique

Class Structure for Jazz, contemporary and technique classes consists of cardio, stretch, Isolations, conditioning, kicks, turns, jumps, technique and choreography. If we are not working towards competitions or performances we like to explore the different styles within that genre (and sometimes outside that genre). We no longer run syllabus work and examinations, with our new class structure we feel that our students are challenged more and reach higher results faster while having lots more fun! We do not offer ballet classes but ballet technique is an important part within these classes.

Tap

Class Structure for Tap consists of a warm up, technique (such as shuffles, pickups, turns, time steps and lots more), rhythm and beats, and choreography.

Hip Hop

Class Structure for Hip Hop consists of cardio, stretch, Isolations, conditioning and choreography. There are many different styles of Hip Hop such as Jazz Funk, Lyrical, Swag, New style, Krumping, Popping and many more so before working on comp or performance routine’s we try and focus on different style’s every week.

Musical Theatre

Class structure for Musical Theatre consists of singing, Drama, Jazz and Tap. A bit like a Glee club but with lots more dancing! Same class structure with Jazz and Tap as above. Once students are at an intermediate/ Advanced level we encourage them to take this course to keep them on a path of becoming a well rounded performer.

Master class

Master class is a new class put together for students of all ages at a higher level and who show great ability of picking up many different styles of Dance. This class is designed to further challenge these students in all genres such as Ballet, Jazz, contemporary, Hip Hop, Tap, Musical Theatre and more. Guest teachers will also be introduced for special classes. Other students not in this class who I think may benefit from a Master class with a guest teacher may also be invited to a one off class. Master Class students are encouraged to attend at least one other class of their preferred genre.
