Rhythm Nation
Welcome to Rhythm Nation Performing Arts Company. We are a Performance and Competition based company. We focus on creativity and encourage our dancers to be open to all genres of dance to help them become more of a well rounded performer.
We offer many styles of dance including Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre and Breakdancing. Beginner to advanced levels, from 4 years of age to adults!
Our instructors are highly experienced in the performing arts industry and have worked professionally both nationally and internationally. The Dance world is changing everyday and with it our instructors continue to train and change with it. We share this with our students and work together to explore the magical world of the arts.
We aim to maintain a professional approach to teaching but like to ensure that while you or your child is learning, they are having fun too. Dance should be an enjoyable experience and we encourage passion for dance and the arts.
Along with dance training, we also offer professional representation to dancers (by audition only) and promotional talent.
A word from the director
Colette Inkster
Hello and Welcome to the world that is Rhythm Nation, My name is Colette Inkster Director / Instructor / Choreographer. Rhythm Nation has a long running history here in Christchurch which I have been lucky to be a part of for over 17 years. I have studied dance full time at The Edge Performer's School in Melbourne and am trained and experienced in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Singing and Drama. I have been an Instructor and choreographer for over 6 years now and continue to train and perform. The more I grow with the always changing arts industry the more I can give back to my students. Rhythm Nation is more than just a Dance company we are a family and offer much more than just a dance class. I am lucky to have this amazing job that I love. Running a dance company is a 24/7 Job which requires 110% effort. 110% effort and respect is expected from our students, who will gain our knowledge and respect in return.
Dance is who we are and we look forward to sharing our passion with you. ‘Dancing the Dream’.
